On the Journey Retreat, the destination is here, not there. We will immerse ourselves in the beauty of Donegal and the sanctuary of Sandhill House as we relax into timeless presence. 


The Journey Retreat will be carefully curated to include a beautiful blend of:

  • Movement: to strengthen and align (yoga, pilates and intuitive movement)
  • Stillness: to rest and restore (meditation and mindful connection in nature)
  • Forest bathing and optional sea dips
  • Fireside gathering
  • Time in our hot tub and relaxation area
  • Journaling and wisdom practices to embody our feminine energy and strength
  • Beautiful, wholesome food to nourish and fuel us on our journey within


The journey retreat will include a beautiful balance of movement and rest, time in nature and connection with each other. We are made to share experiences and our capacity for growth is so much greater when we undergo these transformative experiences together.

We honour the innate connection between the mind and body, using the body as a gateway to healing and wellbeing. Tuning into the body’s sensations, processing and releasing trapped energy, fostering a return to balance and equilibrium.

You will leave Sandhill House with new practices to take home and continue with, so your journey doesn’t end when The Journey retreat does so.

Day one

1pm – 3pm Arrive at Sandhill House (welcome refreshments will be available)

3pm Opening circle

4pm Beach walk

5-6.30pm Yoga Studio

7pm: Dinner Feast / Fireside gathering

9pm: Restful Yoga Nidra Meditation to prepare for a blissful night of deep, restorative sleep

Day two

7-8am: Light, healthy snacks and teas / coffees will be available in the kitchen

8-9.30am: Movement / Meditation in the studio

9.30am: Wholesome Breakfast

11-1pm: Forest Bathing Experience

1.30pm: Delicious, healthy lunch

Free time with the option of a sea swim

5-6.30pm: Movement / Meditation to integrate the day

7pm: Dinner Feast / Fireside gathering

9pm: Restful Yoga Nidra Meditation to prepare for a blissful night of deep, restorative sleep

Day three

7-8am: Light, healthy snacks and teas/coffees will be available in the kitchen

8 am: Walk in Nature

9-10.30am: Movement / Meditation to begin the day

10.30am: Relaxed room check-out

11am: Farewell Brunch

Nature Connection

Step out of your busy modern world to connect with the healing energy and presence of nature. Forest bathing to calm and balance; sea dips to activate and energise.

Both these practices are beneficial to regulate our nervous system and balance our energy.

Forest Bathing

This ancient Japanese practice involves slowly walking through the forest while we focus our senses with mindful practices. Forest bathing offers an antidote to our stress-filled lives with a gentle meditative approach to being in nature, supporting our body’s natural capacity for wellness and healing. The focus is on connection as we practice the art of stillness in nature.

Cold Water Immersion

Cold water immersion has been reported to benefit the body in many ways,
This is an optional practice on our weekend retreats! However, there is an energy and vitality that comes with immersing yourself in the wildness of the cold, salty Atlantic ocean; creating a sense of aliveness and renewed zest for life!

FAQs about Sandhill House


Do I need prior experience in yoga or meditation to attend a Retreat or workshop?


Everyone is welcome. No previous experience is necessary. Our movement is about moving in a way that feels suitable for each person in their own body. I will always give alternatives if something feels too challenging.

I have a food allergy. Can you accommodate me?


Yes we can, please can you let us know your food allergy upon booking.

What if I have pain or a previous injury?


Please do inform me of any injuries or ongoing pain issues. It is important to remember that you are in charge of your practice and well-being. Never force yourself to do something uncomfortable; modify and take breaks as you need.

What time is check-in?


Check-in is at 3pm. Departure is at 1pm.

Is there WiFi?

We have a strong WiFi connection throughout the house for guests.

What should I bring to a Sandhill House Retreat?


We provide one hand towel and one bath towel per person, hand soap, hairdryers, and yoga equipment. Please bring anything else you require, including outdoor wear for being in nature. I recommend bringing some waterproof gear with you in case it’s needed and suitable shoes for walking. 

Please bring loose clothing that you feel comfortable moving in, extra layers for warmth. We move in bare feet in the studio space.

Please bring your own beach towel, swimsuit and flip flops for the hot tub and beach if you wish.

All our guests will receive a Sandhill House refillable water bottle and a Sandhill House journal and pen.

How do I arrange a massage during my stay?

If you know in advance that you would like a treatment, please contact us to arrange.


Are pets allowed at the retreat?

Although we are animal lovers, pets are not allowed at the retreats out of consideration for the other guests in the house.

Is the retreat suitable for solo travelers?

Going on a solo retreat has a lot of benefits. Traveling to a solo retreat invites positive change, as well as freedom for flexibility, personal growth, and self-empowerment.

Sandhill House is located just outside the village of Dunfanaghy, on the N56 following the Wild Atlantic Way, 22 miles / 35 minutes by road from Letterkenny Co.Donegal.
It is on the left handside of the road, a short distance after the Cove Restaurant.
